Dr Renuka Bijoor

Advisory Board Member

A Board –certified Pediatric Dentist, she has 35 years of training and expertise to her credit.  A graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Dr Bijoor completed her post-graduate training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Columbia University Medical Center.  Dr Bijoor then started her private practice in Briarcliff Manor in NY, and very soon, became the first provider of Pediatric Laser Dentistry for both soft and hard tissue treatment in the Tristate area.  In addition, her other main areas of focus have always been prevention of disease and early intervention of any potential problems in the developing child.  She continued this quest by successfully completing the Executive MPH Program in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.


Prior to coming to the US, Dr Bijoor had trained as an Oral Surgeon in India and in the UK, and had had she had a private practice for seven years in Bombay, India.  She received her Fellowship certificate in Oral Implantology from the ICOI in 1995, as the first female recipient from India.  She then pursued further training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the UK and successfully completed Fellowship Exams from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and also in Ireland.  Since she has trained in both Pediatric Dentistry and Oral Surgery, she offers OR services as an option for treatment of special needs patients or very young children with extensive tooth decay.  She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and a Senior Attending at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Sleepy Hollow, NY. 


Dr Bijoor truly believes in the early interception and management of pediatric patients with issues with a functional airway and has successfully treated and helped several families in this realm.
