Dr Jerald Simmons

Jerald H. Simmons, M.D. is Triple Board-Certified in Neurology, Epilepsy and Sleep Medicine. A graduate of Ohio State University, he did his Neurology residency at Washington University, Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University and Epilepsy Fellowship at University of California. He began his professional career as Assistant Professor of Neurology at UCLA while co-directing the UCLA Sleep Disorders Center and directing the Clinical Neuro-physiology lab at Olive View UCLA Medical Center. While there he trained Fellows, taught residents and medical students.
In 1999 he was recruited to the Houston area by the Sadler Clinic where he established his sleep disorders practices and continued to conduct clinical research. In 2006 he founded and continues to direct Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates, providing clinical services to patients from infants to elderly.
Education continues to be an important aspect of his career, having trained medical students, residents and fellows in sleep medicine. In 2004 he established the Sleep Education Consortium, a 501c3 non-profit organization that holds continuing education conferences with a mission to enhance the knowledge of healthcare professions on sleep disorders. He has been a leader in enhancing the collaboration between medical and dental fields, implementing new approaches that enhance patient care.
New areas of focus include the assessment and management of individuals suffering from head injuries. He is leading up an effort that will hopefully provide new improved aspects to the care of these patients.
